A magnetron is a high-power vacuum tube that generates microwaves using the interaction of a stream of electrons with a magnetic field through small, open cavities, causing microwaves to oscillate within. Similarily to how a whistle works.
Production
Just like multiple other components, magnetrons can only be made via assembly machine.
Uses
Magnetrons are a very crucial part of a lot of machinery that depend on either microwaves or electromagnetic fields. Below is the list of every machine that requires magnetrons in NTM:
- Microwaves (the home appliance)
- Particle accelerators
- Relays and radars for certain satellites
- The plasma heater recquired for the fusion reactor
- The turret "Maxwell"
- Radars for missile defense
- EMP device
- The antimatter bomb
