Tungsten is a semi-common heavy metal that can be found deep underground. It is glossy black in color. Despite not being able to be used for tools due to it being so heavy and brittle, its immense hardness, temperature resistance, and corrosion resistance make it very useful in a multitude of other applications, including alloys like high-speed steel and casings for high-end machine components.
Production
It comes from a semi-common overworld ore that is found somewhat deep underground, and has a depth ore variant. It is also found more commonly in the Nether.
