Teleporter

From HBM's Nuclear Tech Wiki
A teleporter block.

This machine is used to instantly transport entities (players, mobs, items, etc.) to the linked position.

Usage

Right-click a block with the telelinker to set the desired exit position, then shift-click the teleporter with the telelinker to configure the teleporter. The teleporter can hold up to 1.5MHE in its buffer and requires 1MHE per teleportation operation. It does not have a GUI, energy is strictly provided via cable, and the destination is visible as a tooltip. If the teleporter has sufficient power and a set destination, it will spawn cyan particles to indicate that it is ready for use.

Notes

  • Due to the teleporter requiring the telelinker, which can only be configured by being at the desired exit position, the teleporter cannot be used to teleport to places that haven't been visited yet.
  • The teleporter does work across dimensions, however it is advised to have an exit teleporter or a portal nearby as the teleporter is strictly one-way.
  • The teleporter will place entities on top of the block that was linked, linking a wall or a roof may cause entities to teleport into solid blocks, so it is advised to only link to floors with sufficient clearance.
  • The teleporter is the fastest way of transferring items across dimensions, however the per operation cost of 1MHE might make it impractical for this purpose. In this case, it's advised to use a conveyor boxer to batch as many items as possible and then send the box through the teleporter, allowing many stacks to be sent for the same energy cost.
  • The teleporter will teleport objects on conveyor belts if the conveyor belt runs directly over the teleporter, if the exit position is directly below another conveyor belt (with the effective position being the conveyor belt itself due to the height offset), the teleporter will place the item on that second belt seamlessly.
