Lead is a soft, silvery-grey (slightly blue), and toxic metal. It is fairly common and spawns at medium depths. Lead isn't particularly useful overall, but it does have specialized uses. Primarily used for radiation protection in hazmat suits and bullets in guns.
You cannot turn it into gold, unfortunately.
Production
Lead can be made by smelting the ore itself.
Lead can also be obtained from Asteroid Mining Ships which give it as a common drop.
It can also be obtained by inputing Poisonous Mud into a Gas Centrifuge.
Uses
Lead is mainly used in nuclear reactors like Watz Power Plant, Breeding Reactor, and in bullets.
