Grenades
Grenades are an inexpensive way to deliver destruction from a short range. To use, grenades only require a shell, charge, and fuze, made using the crafting table. They are customizable, and thus have over 475 possible combinations. With each customization, a grenade's model changes. For example, grenades with the impact grenade fuze
have an orange stripe on their model.
Grenades were reworked as of 1.0.27_X5663, which instead of having dedicated grenades with impact or long timers, the desired fuze can simply be put into any grenade configuration[1]. The older grenades
used to have no 3D models or animations, no customizability, and (as mentioned before) dedicated grenades for different explosions/effects.
Not to be confused with 40mm grenades, which are simpler and made in the ammo press.
Crafting
Grenades are shapelessly crafted in a crafting table using the components below.
Components
Shells
These are components found in every grenade, used to contain the fuze and charge. The in-game model changes depending on the shell used. There are a total of 4 shells, in descending order according to cost below. Depending on the shell, the model's animation changes.
Grenade max stacksize depends on the shell's size[1], and the charges that can be put into a grenade directly depend on the shell.

Fuzes
Fuzes dictate how a grenade explodes; whether or not it explodes mid-air, on impact, or using a timer. There are a total of 5 fuzes and 1 extra fuze.
Charges
Charges dictate how a grenade explodes; whether it uses lead pellets or unleashes a nuclear explosion. There are over 13 grenades. The visual changes that each charge makes is surprisingly accurate to the item model.

Trivia
- The number of possible combinations is calculated like this:
- 4 Shells (Pick One)
- 5 Fuzes (Pick One)
- 13 Charges (Pick One), of which:
- 6 can only be applied to Stick Shell and Compact Shell
- 3 can only be applied to Hi-Tech Shell
- 4 can only be applied to Nuclear Shell
- 4 'Extras' (Pick One or Zero) Stick Shell: 5*6*5=150 combinations Compact Shell: 5*6*5=150 combinations Hi-Tech Shell: 5*3*5=75 combinations Nuclear Shell: 5*4*5=100 combinations 150 + 150 + 75 + 100 = 475 legal combos
- The Nuclear Grenade Shell is a direct Easter egg referencing the look and name of the Nuka-Grenade from the Fallout franchise, specifically its appearance in Fallout 4.
- The Schrabidium Grenade Charge is currently the only grenade capable of generating a Fölkvangr Field, making it highly unique
- Before the modular rework in version
1.0.27_X5663, players had to craft entirely separate, non-customizable items for specific utility variants (like the legacy Smart Grenade or Gas Grenade), which lacked 3D models and throwing animations. - Unlike standard customizable grenades, 40mm Grenades are considered ammunition and cannot be thrown by hand; they can only be fired from weapons like the Congo Lake
