From HBM's Nuclear Tech Wiki
Grenades are an inexpensive way to deliver destruction at range. To use, grenades require at least a shell, a charge, and a fuze, combined together in the crafting table. They are modular, and thus have hundreds of possible combinations. With each combination, a grenade's model changes to reflect its parts. For example, grenades with the impact grenade fuze
have an orange stripe on their model, and grenades with the white phosphorus charge
have a solid-white shell with an orange label.
Not to be confused with 40mm grenades, which are ammunition for grenade launchers, and are made in the ammo press.
Crafting
Grenades are shapelessly crafted in a crafting table using any of the components listed further down (note that not all grenade shells are compatible with every grenade charge).
Components
Shells
These are components found in every grenade, used to contain the fuze and charge. The in-game model and animation changes depending on the shell used. There are a total of 4 shells, in ascending order of crafting cost.
The type of charge that can be put into a grenade depends on the shell that's used. The max stack sizes start at 4 grenades, and decrease the more advanced the grenade shell is.

Stick Grenade Shell
- Cheap to craft
- Stacks up to 4 grenades
- Can be thrown further
|
|
|
Compact Grenade Shell
- Cheap to craft
- Stacks up to 4 grenades
- Bounces much more
- Improved fragmentation:
- The "Fragmentation Sleeve" Grenade Extra shoots out 38 bolts instead of 25
- The "Cluster Grenade Charge" fragments into 38 explosive pellets instead of 30

|
|
High-Tech Grenade Shell
- Decently expensive
- Stacks up to 2 grenades
- Bounces much more
- Has its own grenade charges
|
|
|
Nuclear Grenade Shell
- Most expensive shell
- Cannot stack
- Can be thrown further distances
- Has its own grenade charges
|
|
Fuzes
Fuzes dictate when a grenade explodes; whether it explodes after a certain time, on impact, or mid-air. There are a total of 5 fuzes and 1 extra fuze.
Charges
Charges are the part of the grenade that explodes; ranging from simple gunpowder explosions, to releasing cluster explosions, or even unleashing a nuclear explosion.

Trivia
- The number of possible combinations is calculated like this:
- 4 Shells (Pick one)
- 5 Fuzes (Pick one)
- 13 Charges (Pick one), of which:
- 6 can only be applied to Stick Shell and Compact Shell
- 3 can only be applied to Hi-Tech Shell
- 4 can only be applied to Nuclear Shell
- 4 'Extras' (Pick one or zero)
- Stick Shell: 5*6*5=150 combinations; Compact Shell: 5*6*5=150 combinations; Hi-Tech Shell: 5*3*5=75 combinations; Nuclear Shell: 5*4*5=100 combinations; 150 + 150 + 75 + 100 = 475 legal combinations
- The Nuclear Grenade Shell is a direct reference to the look and name of the Nuka-Grenade from the Fallout franchise, specifically its appearance in Fallout 4.
- The Schrabidium Grenade Charge is the only grenade capable of generating a Fölkvangr Field, making it highly unique
- Before the modular rework in version
1.0.27_X5663, players had to craft entirely separate, non-customizable items for specific utility variants (like the Smart Grenade or Bouncy Grenade), which lacked 3D models and throwing animations.
