High-speed steel (HSS or "dura-steel" in the files) is an advanced and specialized form of standard steel. It is much darker than normal steel and looks more like a dark, matte, tungsten, making it look quite similar to polymer actually (in color anyway).
Production
It is created in a crucible by combining normal steel with tungsten and cobalt.
Uses
It cannot be used to make normal tools or armor, and its uses are specific, but it is still worth it to produce. It can be used to make the battery-powered electric power tool family: the Stunstick (electric sword), Electric Chainsaw (electric axe), Impact Drill (electric pickaxe), and Spiral Drill (electric shovel), all of which are very good tools which can mine very hard blocks fast and can recover their "durability" quickly by recharging.
Its powder form is used to make saturnite.
High-Speed Steel Bolts are used alongside a Pneumatic Rivet Gun to make the Watz Power Plant and Inertial Confinement Fusion Reactor.
Trivia
- It's not actually used in high-speed rails.
- Its block form is called the "Reinforced Block of High-Speed Steel" though there is no "unreinforced" or normal block.
