The charge thrower is a short-mid range gun that shoots specialized demolition charges and grappling hooks. Both demolition charge types cause some block damage, making them more suited for demolition than against groups of enemies, as their names imply.
Crafting
The charge thrower only requires steel, gunmetal, and leather/rubber, making it one of the earliest weapons craftable.
Mechanics and Play
The charge thrower uses its own custom ammo set, called charges. There are two types of demolition charges, and a grappling hook. It is difficult to aim all charge types because they are heavy enough to be noticeably affected by gravity, requiring the shooter to either aim at close range, or aim above the intended target, to account for the projectile falling.
Demolition
Both demolition charges deal some block damage, with the heavy demolition charge dealing more damage and in a much wider area, as well as covering the crater in slag. They are primarily useful to demolish any unwanted structure/terrain, but they can also easily kill most mobs within the blast radius, which makes them especially effective at taking out glyphid nests.
Grappling Hook
The grappling hook allows the shooter to grapple onto any surface after the hook collides with terrain. Holding the primary fire button swiftly pulls the shooter directly towards the hook, and holding the alternate fire button slowly extends the rope between the hook and the shooter.
If no button is pressed, the shooter will be constantly pulled towards the hook at a slow pace, and their walking speed is cut in half. If the shooter is floating in the air underneat the hook, the force of gravity will be negated by the passive pulling of the hook, allowing the shooter to float in the air perfectly still.
The grappling hook has no limit on how long its rope can get, but it does have a time limit of ~60 seconds before both the hook and the rope despawn.

Mods
The charge thrower can accept a scope, although it isn't very useful for longer ranges because of how fast its projectiles fall to the ground, making it harder to tell whether the projectile landed at the intended target.
It can not accept any high-durability parts nor any optimized recievers.
