The Laser Rifle is a powerful semi-automatic lategame weapon. Unlike most guns, it fires an instant hitscan beam, using cheap capacitors as ammunition.
Crafting
The laser rifle requires bismuth or arsenic bronze, making it one of the latest available guns:

Mechanics and Play
The laser rifle has some of the highest per-shot damage and a decent rate of fire, which in addition to its laser damage class makes it exceptionally powerful. Most armor sets either have weak laser protection or no dedicated protection at all, which means that laser damage is far more effective than physical damage from conventional weapons.
The laser rifle comes with an integrated scope and perfect accuracy when aiming, making it highly effective even at long ranges.

Mods
- Laser Rifle Beam Splitter: Increases base spread and makes the gun fire three beams simultaneously while only using one capacitor, each beam deals 35% base damage.
- Laser Rifle Extended Capacitor: Increases the battery capacity by 50% to 36, and the base damage by 5%.
- Laser Rifle Automatic Receiver: Removes the scope, decreases base damage by 34% and replaces the action with a fully automatic one.
Since none of these mods are incompatible with one another, it is indeed possible to make an automatic laser shotgun with high ammo capacity. However, the damage penalty of the beam splitter and automatic receiver stack, meaning that the per-shot damage is quite low.
Trivia
- The laser rifle is based on the Wattz 2000 Laser Rifle from Fallout.
- The design is a bit of a mish-mash of various images of the Wattz 2000, with parts taken from Fallout 4 mods that add that model of laser rifle.
- The model has various removable parts, as it was initially intended to be convertible to an automatic rifle, shotgun or pistol by removing these parts.
- This plan became obsolete when models for dedicated attachments and replacements were made, as well as a model for a separate laser pistol.
