Break-Action Revolver
The RI No. 2 Mark 1 (aka Break-Action Revolver) is a single action, 6 shot, .357 Magnum revolver. It fires all types of .357 rounds. It is effectively semi-automatic.
Background
From the BioShock wiki:
The Pistol is a weapon that the player can use in BioShock and BioShock 2 Multiplayer. Pistols have a good rate of fire, good range and accuracy, and deal a moderate amount of damage.
Crafting
The break-action revolver is crafted in a crafting table with the following recipe:
Mechanics and Play
The .357 Magnum is a powerful accurate cartridge and when paired with the general x1.25 headshot multiplier, makes it quite potent against all foes. With headshots, the Atlas variant can kill any generic vanilla monster in 1 - 2 shots.
It is possible to snipe targets if one aims well using the provided iron sights, given the accuracy of the rounds and headshot multiplier.
Atlas
The Atlas is the B-Side version of break-action revolver
Crafting the Atlas
The Atlas is crafted by surrounding a break-action revolver with weapon steel mechanisms in a crafting table:
Trivia
- It features a somewhat unusual reload animation where the gun is disassembled and its cylinder removed entirely, though it is still entirely reasonable to do this for a fast reload with a single action revolver.
- It was the first gun to feature smoke coming from the barrel after firing and full animations.
- The gun resembles the starting pistol (simply named "Pistol") from BioShock 1. Chambered in the (comparatively) common .38 caliber and being able to kill most Splicers with a single shot, it's a powerful early-game weapon.
- The Pistol itself is strongly based on the Webley Revolver, with the barrel's shape and the gun's frame being the most obvious similarities. While the Webley is also a break-action revolver, it is not reloaded by replacing the entire cylinder, instead rounds are simply ejected.
