The Comically Long Pistol (or just the Long Pistol), as the name suggests, is a pistol with an absurd slide length - matched only by its raw power and recoil. It is the strongest weapon chambered in 9mm.
Crafting
The long pistol can be crafted using a weapon steel mechanism, a polymer or bakelite grip, and two components from any resistant alloy.

Mechanics and Play
The long pistol is the last available sidearm; crafting it requires the use of a nuclear reactor like the ZIRNOX and a coker unit.
Despite being a relatively low-caliber pistol, its performance far exceeds its peers. In fact, it currently has the highest base damage-per-shot — 12.5 hearts — of any semi-automatic, non-shotgun firearm in the game. When coupled with the pistol's decent capacity and just over two and a half second reloads, it is more than capable of tearing through any armored midgame enemies.
Spamming the pistol is unadvisable, however. Not only does it have considerable visual recoil (causing the camera to jump from its first shot), but the gun itself strongly recoils upwards; its animation obstructs much of the screen whilst aiming down sights, making target visibility poor unless the pistol is tap fired. This, combined with the pistol's near-zero innate spread, makes "running and gunning" a valid alternate strategy for close-quarters.
Mods
- .45 Conversion Kit: Allows use of the larger .45 caliber, reducing the magazine capacity to 15.
- .357 Magnum Conversion Kit: Allows use of the heavier .357 Magnum revolver rounds, reducing the magazine capacity to 15.
- .44 Magnum Conversion Kit: Allows use of the even heavier .44 Magnum revolver rounds, reducing the magazine capacity to 13.
Trivia
- The comically long pistol's model was made by Bob.
- Animations were provided by Vær.
- It is based off of the Hellsing Combat Pistol "Jackal" from the Hellsing anime and manga, with no real-life counterpart.
- The Jackal is chambered in a massive 13mm caliber cartridge, giving reason to its unreasonable proportions. Consequentially, it weighs in at 16 kg (or 35 pounds).
- The inspect animation allows the player to look down the barrel and see if a bullet is chambered.
- Although currently unimplemented, it is planned for the player to be able to fire (and shoot themselves) during this inspect.
- The long pistol's name during development often alluded to rather crude humor regarding its length, with its model name being "mike hawk" and its internal name being "LAG", or "Long-Ass Gun".
