Guide: Generic Missiles

From HBM's Nuclear Tech Wiki

For help with Custom Missiles, refer to Guide: Custom Missiles. Information regarding Custom Missiles (including their exclusive Launch Pads) will not be included in this guide.

Missiles

Tier 1-4 missiles side-by-side. In order: HE Missile, Strong HE Missile, Spare Missile, Nuclear Missile.

Missiles are possibly the single best method to cause destruction in your world. While technically available in early-game, it is recommended to wait until mid-game to begin considering making them, as you'll have a wider range of missile types to make. At Tier 3, the recipes require more thrusters and more fuel tanks. It's unlikely you'll be able to get them in early-game, and the Tier 4 missiles are all late-game. It is recommended you do not keep missiles with high destructive power (Tier 3 and 4 missiles) fueled on a launch pad, as accidentally launching them can blow a sizeable hole in your base.

To get started on making your own missiles, you must have the basic components:

  • A target designator of any variety.
  • A valid launch pad.
  • Enough fuel and power to launch the missile.
  • The missile itself.

There are currently 26 distinct missiles in the mod, being five T0, seven T1, five T2, five T3, and four T4. They are as follows:

Missile Assembly

The arc welder with the HE Missile components inside of it.

All missiles and their components (with the exception of the warheads, T0 missiles, Stealth Missile, ABM, Reliant Robin, and Doomsday Missile) are made in the arc welder, although the components required change from tier-to-tier.

Missile Components

The components for Tier 1 missiles are 1 Small Thruster, 1 Small Fuel Tank, and the warhead. The recipes are as follows:

Small Thruster
Small Fuel Tank

The components for Tier 2 missiles are 1 Medium Thruster, 1 Medium Fuel Tank, and the warhead. The components for Tier 3 missiles are 4 Medium Thrusters, 2 Medium Fuel Tanks, and the warhead. The recipes remain the same, and are as follows:

Medium Thruster
Medium Fuel Tank

Tier 4 missiles are by far the most expensive Generic Missiles in the mod, the components being 3 Large Thrusters, 1 Large Fuel Tank, and the warhead. The recipes are as follows:

Large Thruster
Large Fuel Tank

Some missiles (namely the ABM and Tier 0 Missiles) use a special item called the Small Missile Assembly, made using the assembly machine rather than the arc welder. The recipe is as follows:

Solid Fuel (Rocket Propellant)
Integrated Circuit Board

Missile Templates

All non-specialized missiles follow the same template, that being Thruster - Fuel Tank - Warhead. Each missile recipe is listed below, but for the page dedicated to the missile you want, click on the missile when the recipe cycles to it.

Launch Pads

Launch pad, for launching all Generic Missiles

Launch Pad

This is the main launch table for all non-custom missiles. Although it is the earliest available, missiles must first be erected before launch (resulting in a small delay).

This launch table is constructed in an assembly machine with the following recipe:

Silo launch pad, for launching generic missiles directly from silos

Silo Launch Pad

The silo launch pad is a miniaturized version of the launch pad; it can launch every Generic Missile with a delay of only 5 seconds. A rusted variant can be found in the naturally-occurring silo structure, holding the damaged Doomsday Missile.

It can be assembled in an assembly machine with the following recipe:
