Wood is a very common, combustible, and beige-tan in color material present in the base game that is widely used in NTM. It is an umbrella term encompassing both logs and planks.
Production
Wood is normally obtained through cutting down trees. It cannot be synthesized in any way, but the abundance of trees makes it unnecessary. However, wood production can be automated using the automatic buzz saw and tree saplings.
Usage
Due to it being the first block in progression, it is used to make tools such as pickaxes and swords. It also has a multitude of uses listed below.

- Logs can also be turned into charcoal.
- In the combination oven, turning logs into charcoal yields wood oil.
Sawdust
- Using the stirling sawmill to make planks yields sawdust.
- This can be turned into sawdust briquettes, which can processed in the combination oven to yield 500 mB of wood oil. Sawdust briquettes smelt for 2 operations, and can be smelted to make charcoal.
