The stirling sawmill

The Stirling Sawmill is a variant of the stirling engine that operates on the same properties, but instead is used to cut logs into planks and produce sawdust rather than generating power. It has no other variants.

Usage

The Stirling sawmill, due to its barebones recipe, might be considered as a useful wood source in the early game as it produces 6 planks from 1 log, compared to 4 planks from 1 log in the crafting table. When operating, it can damage entities dealing around 75 damage.

In order for it to function, an external heating source (such as a firebox or heating oven) must be placed directly underneath. The engine is prone to overspinning at relatively low heat levels of only 300 TU/t. if it exceeds this limit, it will audibly warn of an overspeed before exploding, resulting in a sawmill without a blade.

The blade is not retrievable, but the sawblade can be placed back onto it. Alternatively, the stirling sawmill can be mined and placed back for it to appear again.

Crafting

The stirling sawmill is relatively easy to make and only requires steel, iron, wood, and copper materials. This makes it possible to get early game.
