Tsar Bomba

The Tsar Bomba is a recreation of the Soviet hydrogen bomb of the same name, historically the most powerful nuclear weapon ever detonated. It was a three-stage thermonuclear device designed primarily as a demonstration of power rather than a practical battlefield weapon, using an immensely complex design to achieve an unparalleled explosive yield.

Background

Tsar Bomba, also known as AN602 or RDS-220, was the most powerful thermonuclear bomb ever created and tested. It was developed and tested by the Soviet Union in 1961. Originally designed with a 100-megaton yield, it was modified to 50 megatons for the test to reduce fallout. The explosion, equivalent to roughly 3,800 times the strength of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs, remains the largest human-made explosion ever recorded.

Fission Components

To arm the device for fission, 4 arrays of high-explosive lenses are required:

Additionally a plutonium core is needed, assembled like so:

Fission Components

To achieve full fusion and vastly improve the yield, a Tsar Bomba core is needed. As it currently stands there is no way to obtain it in survival without cheats.

Detonating

The bomb can be detonated without the Tsar Bomba core, The resulting fission explosion is similar to that of the Fat Man.

To construct and arm the bomb, place the Tsar Bomba down in the intended target zone. Then, place the required items in the matching slots, as shown in the diagram to the right. Once the bomb has been constructed, any detonator can be used to trigger the bomb.
