Production
Crude oil can be processed in a hydrotreater to make desulfurized crude oil.
Desulfurized Cracked Oil can also be made, but the crude oil has to be cracked before being processed in the hydrotreater.
Processing
Desulfurized Crude Oil can be either refined regularly, or vacuum refined. For the oil refinery, it has to be heated in a boiler, and for the vacuum refinery, it has to be compressed at 2 PU.
1000 mB of desulfurized crude oil in an oil refinery will yield:
1,000mBParaffin Wax is also produced as a byproduct.
It can also be processed in a vacuum refinery, which gives the same products and quantities, but with the difference being that the sour gas is replaced with reformate gas.
Desulfurized Naphtha can either be coked or fractioned, where 100 mB of it give 60 mB of BTX and 40 mB of High-Octane Diesel.
Desulfurized Light Oil can be as well coked or fractioned, where 100 mB of it give 60 mB of High-Octane Diesel and 40 mB of Jet Fuel.
Desulfurized Cracked Oil can only be processed in an oil refinery, where 1000 mB of it will yield:
1,000mB
