In obsolete version of the mod, heating crude oil enough to be refined could be performed two small boiler machines, both with the same function but powered differently. They were only used to turn crude oil into hot crude oil for refinement, but some even older versions could boil water into steam for recipes or power generation.

The process started upon hitting 350°C, same as it is currently.

Oil Heater

Powered by solid flammable materials, like coal or lignite. It had a max. heat of 500℃.

Usage

Set the type of fluid with a Fluid ID, pump it in, and fuel it.

Electric Oil Heater

Functioned exactly the same, but was much faster and powered by electricity. It has a maximum heat of 800℃.

Crafting one was required for the Petroleum Bobmazon catalogue.

Replace solid fuel with energy (a fair amount of it).

Notes

Would have constantly used up power when supplied, even when not boiling.
Would have rewarded you with the Bobmazon Petroleum achievement when crafted.
