Carbon Dioxide

From HBM's Nuclear Tech Wiki

Carbon dioxide is a gaseous polluting fluid which mainly occurs as a waste product in certain petrochemical or material refinement processes. Its only meaningful use is as a coolant in the ZIRNOX nuclear reactor, which uses up to 16000 mB of it. It can be vented via a flare stack for disposal.

Production

Carbon dioxide can be produced from natural gas in a chemical plant:

Natural Gas
1,000mB
Carbon Dioxide
1,000mB

Carbon dioxide can also be made in a fractioning tower from coker gas with an aromatic hydrocarbons byproduct:

Coker Gas
100mB
Aromatic Hydrocarbons
25mB
Carbon Dioxide
75mB

It is also a byproduct of calcium production from limestone in a combination oven:

Limestone Powder
Calcium Powder
Carbon Dioxide
50mB

Carbon dioxide can also be made in the pyrolysis oven with 4 of any type of tar. (template needed)

Uses

Currently, the only use for carbon dioxide is as a coolant for the ZIRNOX nuclear reactor. More is not necessarily better, and some trial and error will be needed on the part of the player to determine the ideal amount for a particular fuel load.
