The Heat Exchanging Heater

The Heat Exchanging Heater is a compact 3x3x1 Machine designed to transfer thermal energy (TU) by utilizing temperature of hot fluids. It heats other machines that need heat to work, such as Boiler or Steel furnace.

Operation

GUI for the Heat Exchanging Heater.

Just like its electric and solid burning machines, the heat exchanger needs to be placed below the machine that requires TU, and cannot be stacked. It can buffer up to 24,000 mB of both the hot and cold fluids. If the cold fluid buffer is filled, the heat exchanger will stop until it is emptied.

The player can insert or extract fluids by using the 4 ports located on two opposite sides of the machine. The fluid's type can also be changed using the fluid identifier slot in the GUI, located right between the fluid buffers.

The amount of TU generated per mB depends on the heat capacity of the hot fluid, and the efficiency multiplier (the percentage in front of the "[Coolable]" property). The heat exchanger has a TU buffer with near infinite capacity (exactly 2,147,483,647), which is displayed when looking at the machine. If this buffer is filled, the machine will stop until that heat is used.

There are two settings that can change the rate at which the heat exchanger consumes fluids, the bottom setting adjusts the delay between exchanging cycles in ticks, and the top setting can change the amount of fluid consumed per exchanging cycle. The maximum amount of fluid that can be exchanged per cycle is 99999 mB.
