Mustard Willow

From HBM's Nuclear Tech Wiki
A group of mustard willows, below, oily dirt is seen.

The Mustard Willow is a plant that can be found near bedrock oil deposits which can be processed into cadmium, which is then processed into cadmium steel, which is used for various recipes, though isn't necessary for progression, since it can be substituted with technetium steel. When it's fully matured, the main item can be obtained, that being the mustard willow leaf. There's a in-game guide on how to use the mustard willow, It can be viewed by hovering over the plant item and pressing F1.

Growth

The plant can be successfully grown and matured following these conditions:

  • It needs water to grow.
  • It needs to be placed on top of dead or oily dirt to fully mature, though it can still be placed on top of normal dirt.
  • It can be harvested with the automatic buzz saw, allowing it to be automated.
  • It can be fertilized using industrial fertilizer or bonemeal.
  • It doesn't need any form of light to grow.

After the second stage of growth, it needs a extra block of space above it to continue. After the fourth stage of growth, it needs dead or oily dirt underneath it. This can be done by a machine like the fracking tower polluting the earth. Finally, when it's matured, it can be broken to get the mustard willow leaf.

Uses

It can be used in 2 ways:

Trivia

  • Though "mustard willow" does not refer to any real-life plant species, some plants from the genera Salix (willows) and Populus (poplar) have been found to absorb cadmium from the soil.
