Coltass

The Coltass is a compass that is used to locate the coltan deposit. It always points toward the center of the deposit, and the distance measurement UI shows how far away the deposit is in meters.

The coltass can be crafted in a crafting table using the following recipe:

Notes

A common misconception is that coltan spawns in one blob which the compass points to. The compass' ingame tooltip addresses this, saying "The deposit is a large area where coltan ore spawns like standard ore, it's not large blob of ore on that exact location."
Due to the requirement of coltan for making tantalium, the coltass is an essential item for progression.
