The martian invasion ship is a late-game boss which is killed to get the UFO Coin, used in crafting Gerald. It has large amounts of health, strong ranged attacks, and flies around rapidly killing any hostile or passive mobs is sees. You should not fight it until you are well prepared (consider practicing in a test world).
