Armor modification table

The Armor Modification Table is a block used for adding additional upgrades to certain pieces of armor, such as protective inserts, speed enhancing servos, or various other functional upgrades.

Obtaining

Crafted through entirely vanilla means with simple early game ingredients.

Usage

GUI of an armor modification table with important areas highlighted in blue and numbered.

The GUI for the table can be accessed by right clicking it. Every piece of armor in both vanilla and in NTM can be modified with upgrades.

  1. Helmet Slot. Upgrade slot for upgrades with the tag "Slot: Helmet".
  2. Chestplate Slot. Upgrade slot for upgrades with the tag "Slot: Chestplate".
  3. Leggings Slot. Upgrade slot for upgrades with the tag "Slot: Leggings".
  4. Boots Slot. Upgrade slot for upgrades with the tag "Slot: Boots".
  5. Player Armor. Inventory for the player's current armor to allow for convenient access of worn armor when in use.
  6. Armor Slot. Contains the piece of armor currently being modified. Flashes red when not in use.
  7. Special Slot. Upgrade slot for upgrades with the tag "Slot: Special".
  8. Insert Slot. Upgrade slot for upgrades with the tag "Slot: Insert".
  9. Cladding Slot. Upgrade slot for upgrades with the tag "Slot: Cladding".
  10. Servos Slot. Upgrade slot for upgrades with the tag "Slot: Servos".

Despite their naming, the first 4 slots do not accept pieces of armor directly and instead will accept upgrades which have the tag "Slot: X" with the X being the piece of armor it applies to (helmet, leggings, etc). For example, the charm of protection is applicable to chestplates, meaning that it can only be added to a chestplate, but fits into the helmet slot in the GUI (#1).

Most upgrades will be inserted into the lower four slots with the upper four slots being mostly used for gas masks, NVGs, and jetpacks. The other 4 slots broadly are:

  • Special. Used for various upgrades like magnets, health upgrades, and minor resistances.
  • Insert. Used for inserts which act as a second layer of armor, reducing specific kinds of damage but taking durability damage in return.
  • Cladding. Used for cladding which increases radiation resistance or adds other kinds of resistances.
  • Servos. Used for servos which grant the player either increased speed and mobility or mining speed and melee damage depending on whether they are applied to leggings or a chestplate respectively. Also accepts the ballistic gauntlet upgrade.
