Background
The cyber crab is a tiny mob added to the game. It, along with its "family", are also the only "unique" mob additions, as the Nuclear Creeper & Tainted Creeper are just mutated versions of a vanilla creeper. They make mechanical/robotic chirping sounds. They also attack villagers, unlike most mobs. When receiving non-fatal damage, it will enter a panic state where it does not attack and moves around very quickly erratically, not even paying attention to other dangers like lava or water.
Spawning
Only spawns in the very rare Meteor Dungeon with its variants. The Meteor Dungeons have Cyber Crab Assemblers which can very frequently spawn Cyber Crabs.
Dangers
While cyber crabs are very easy to kill even with just fists, their "brimstone" projectiles deal hefty amounts of damage. They also penetrate force fields very easily compared to other projectiles. They are also small and hard to hit, especially when they enter a panic state. They don't usually attack when alone, they prefer to attack when in large groups where they try and swarm the player.
Uses/Farming
Cyber crabs don't drop any experience, but they do drop gold wiring and rarely 4000K High Temperature Superconductors, which are useful in mid-late game items and machines.
Trivia
- Parallels between it and the head crab from Hλlf-Life have been made.
- They have small "teeth" that can only be seen from below.
- They attack all other mobs, including hostile ones, but not creepers.
- This sometimes leads to them getting killed in retaliation, usually by spiders.
- They are easily dispatched by iron golems, sometimes even other mobs.
- While not immediately dying in water, they do take much-increased damage and eventually "drown".
- In contrast to the other variants, which quickly die.
- They do die instantly when exposed to rain, however.
- They can rarely drop 1-2 4000K High Temperature Superconductors.
- Blast that little... where did she get to? Lamarr? Come out of there!
