Biogas

Biogas is a gaseous renewable energy source produced from raw materials such as agricultural waste, manure, municipal waste, plant material, sewage, green waste, wastewater, and food waste.

Biogas is produced by anaerobic digestion with anaerobic organisms or methanogens inside an anaerobic digester, biodigester or a bioreactor.

In Nuclear Tech Mod, Biogas is the gaseous counterpart of Biofuel, which is another fuel in the mod that has its particular production and uses, being used in a few processes such as coking. It is made from the chemical process of breaking down Biomass. Biogas doesn't matter much with your progression just like Biofuel also doesn't. So even thought it exists, it's just an option if you wanna make it for something or not. But just like Biofuel exists and is almost the same thing as Biogas, doesn't mean it has no use on the mod.

Biogas is highly flammable, combustible, and can be polluting. In the mod, it has a gaseous fuel grade. Althought that, its counterpart, Biofuel, is much better in terms of being a good fuel to use for your will.

Production

Biofuel can be made in 3 total ways, those being 1 a Chemical Plant and 2 in the Industrial Liquefaction Machine, firstly we will have a look in the Chemical Plant way of doing it and in details:

Chemical Plant
Inputs Recipe
Chemistry Template: Biogas Production

Production Time: 3.0 seconds

Inputs: Biomass

Produces: Biogas

Biogas
2,000mB

And now to the Industrial Liquefaction Machine ways of making Biogas:

  • 1 Glyphid's Fluid Gland > 2000mB Biogas
  • 1 Biomass > 125mB Biogas

Uses

Biogas, as said at the start, doesn't have many uses just like its counterpart, but can be used in 2 ways, those being: Creating Biofuel in a Chemical Plant:

Chemical Plant
Inputs Recipe
Chemistry Template: Biofuel Transesferification

Production Time: 3.0 seconds

Inputs: Biogas, Ethanol

Produces: Biofuel

Biogas
1,500mB
Ethanol
250mB
Biofuel
1,000mB

(Tip: Ideally, it is a much better idea making Biofuel using this method rather than using Biogas for any of the plans you might have such as burning it, as Biofuel gives much higher quantities of energy per bucket than Biogas does)

And in a Industrial Solidification Machine, in the following way:

  • 250mB Biogas > 1 Compressed Biomass

Trivia

Real Life Facts:

Biogas is a hydrocarbon fuel and not a fossil fuel. This is because the biogas is neither obtained from mining nor captured from geological deposits. It is naturally or biologically produced through anaerobic digestion.

The bacteria which produces the gaseous mixture are collectively known as methanogens. Methanobacterium is one such methanogen. They grow under anaerobic conditions and produce a large amount of methane gas, along with carbon dioxide and hydrogen.
