Asbestos Powder

Asbestos is a rare, naturally occurring silicate mineral used for its insulating and fire resistant properties. It is highly toxic when released into the air and can cause severe lung damage to any player nearby without protection.

Production

Acquired usually from a relatively rare underground ore or from processing its bedrock ore form. Can be found in the form of chrysotile surrounding the walls of a cave which can then be shredded into asbestos powder.

Uses

  • Efficient insulator crafting due to the fact that 2 asbestos sheets can produce 16 insulators.
  • Asbestos concrete for RBMK columns.
  • Laboratory tiles.
  • Various other minor recipes such as the breeding reactor, versatile chipset, and XSAPI inserts

Trivia

  • Due to its tendency to cause severe lung damage, asbestos has been unilaterally banned in over 60 countries worldwide.
  • Asbestos based blocks (ores, tile, roof, etc) release airborne asbestos particles passively. Wear a gas mask when working with them.
    • Laboratory tiles do not, except for cracked and broken variants.
