In modern physics, antimatter is defined as matter composed of the antiparticles (or "partners") of the corresponding particles in "ordinary" matter, and can be thought of as matter with reversed charge, parity, and time, known as CPT reversal.
In theory, a particle and its antiparticle (for example, a proton and an antiproton) have the same mass, but opposite electric charge, and other differences in quantum numbers.
A collision between any particle and its anti-particle partner leads to their mutual annihilation, giving rise to various proportions of intense photons (gamma rays), neutrinos, and sometimes less-massive particle–antiparticle pairs.
In Nuclear Tech Mod, antimatter, specifically antihydrogen, is a pure, black fluid, primarily held in cells or capsules. If the cell is dropped on the floor as an item, it will blow up, causing a bright gamma-ray flash. Though technically, antimatter would have to be contained within magnetic containment, this only counts for the barrels. Only large quantities of antimatter must either be held in large magnetic tanks or small magnetic antimatter containment barrels.

- Real Life Facts:
- Contrary to popular belief, antimatter actually behaves the exact same as any normal matter does, chemically and physically. It is attracted by matter and gravity, it reflects light the same way and it reacts the same way, except when in contact with normal matter.
- Antimatter may seem impossibly far from daily lives. But ordinary bananas produce antimatter, releasing one positron, the antimatter equivalent of an electron about every 75 minutes, due to the β+ decay from the potassium-40 content.

- Although not directly stated, it is said to be antihydrogen in the tooltip for Flashgold RBMK fuel.
- Antimatter used to be dropped by wither skeletons when killed with a weapon that had the "decapitator" weapon ability. This was an attempt to prevent Withers from being farmed too quickly. It was quickly removed however due to it being extremely exploitable.
- The color of antimatter is most likely just black because it makes the fluid more distinct.
