Alexandrite is a rare mineral used in the crafting of special machines and blocks.
Production
- Alexandrite spawns in the overworld as an ore, very rarely, with only one vein per 100th chunk on average. It can only be mined by explosives or by pickaxes with the ability to mine blocks with this property.
- It is however, affected by the fortune enchantment, but there is hard cap of only 2 alexandrite per ore, regardless of the level of fortune used.
- Alexandrite veins can be detected by
neutrino lens, and will be seen on its GUI with a bright blue color.

- Alexandrite changes color based on light level, the more artificial ("block") light there is, the more the color shifts from blue to green to purple. This mimics the eponymous Alexandrite effect found in certain minerals, which causes the hue to change with incandescent light.
